Last time after JC-tooling technician's explanation, I still don't quite understand what is the difference between spark machine and WEDM.
Spark machine is also known as electric spark EDM, but wire cutting is also called electric spark wire cutting WEDM, must be a lot of people with me as silly to distinguish, the current machine tool industry, many people confuse the two concepts.
The same point between the two:
1, the same principle of work, both are generated through the discharge of high temperature to dissolve the metal
2, surface roughness and productivity of machine tools and other similar processing technology, can process all conductive materials
3, the two minimum angular radius are limited to different points
Different points:
1, EDM is a spark pattern in the processing workpiece, and wire cutting is a spark discharge on the workpiece, cutting molding
2, EDM processing must first need to process the shape of the electrode through other CNC machine tools to manufacture out, wire cutting is through the movement of the table, molybdenum wire on the contour of the workpiece processing
3, spark machine electrode is easy to loss, so often use more than one electrode processing; and wire cutting in the process of processing will automatically replace the damaged electrode wire processing, so there is no electrode damage affects the processing accuracy of the problem
4、Spark machine can process beautiful spark pattern; wire cutting can process small holes and complex shape of the seam
